Sausage Sizzle a Great Success

The Christmas sausage sizzle was held today at the Woodside Reserve and everyone agreed it was a great success.  Jenny Tanner from Back2Back, the community engagement initiative for this local area (funded by Dept of Internal Affairs), was in charge of the sausages and I ‘personned’ the bread and tomato sauce!  We had a steady flow of local people including a group of kids who had heard about the event via our letterbox drop. Karena Way from Project Twin Streams dropped by as did John Riddell of the Massey-Birdwood Settlers Association.

We have a great little area in the Woodside Reserve that doesn’t get a lot of use – its tucked away and maybe people don’t know it’s there – but a few more events like this one and hopefully it will be a place that kids come to kick a ball around or families have picnics etc.

A big thanks to Back2Back for the support!

November Committee Meeting

The committee met last night and amongst other matters reflected on the month’s activity in the Garden.  It has been an active month and the spring planting has been completed.  The planting day on the 12th November went well.

The Lincoln Scout Group are going to get involved in a gardening project of their own and will be getting busy shortly.

There are quite a few photos around and they will be rounded up and displayed here on the website.  Also coming soon is the calendar – which has been missing in action for a while.
