Riverpark Action Group is a small community group, based on the border of Massey and Henderson, centred in location around the Riverpark Reserve. We are all volunteers and focus on local community issues such as safety, environmental issues, etc. and act as advocates where appropriate. We try to keep an eye on anything that is happening in our area, which affects the life of residents in our community and keep them informed.
We successfully lobbied for lighting in Riverpark Reserve and the Woodside Reserve-Sunline Avenue footbridge and for our playground in Riverpark Reserve to be upgraded. We have also held clean-up days and have advocated for changes to the Swanson Rd/Universal Dr/Don Buck Rd roundabout. Our committee meets once a month. Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you want to join us!
Our major project is the Woodside Community Garden: located in Woodside Reserve, 28 Woodside Road, Massey, West Auckland. The focus of the garden is to draw the community together, learn about gardening together, meet neighbours and provide healthy food while getting free exercise! The garden has its own blog, which you can read here. We are always looking for more volunteers so please come down and meet us on Saturday morning if you think you might want to get involved. We have a working bee once a month on the last Saturday of the month; summer 9am-11am, winter 10am -12pm.
